One thing that I incorporated was the logo. The logo links back to the home page along with the home button, so there is always two separate ways to get back to the home page from every screen. 

Along with that, the site is fully functional and live on the internet! Click the image to check it out!

About Page

The about page is just a simple summary about myself and what I do and plan on doing. Nothing really special about this page, but necessary.

Transitions

I created transitions for navigation. On the navigation bars, the text color changes from a lighter green into a bright green once hovered over. For the contact buttons, they are lowered in opacity, and when hovered over the opacity becomes solid.

Work Page

 

The Work page I made a separate sub-header for organization. This allows for the pictures to be sorted depending on their media. I did that by creating separate pages for each form of media.

Home Page Complete

 

The Home page has a slideshow with automatically changing pictures, just to showcase some of the work that can be later viewed in more detail elsewhere on the site.

Art Portfolio Project Idea

I plan on making an art portfolio for a final project. I have designed a tentative idea of a layout for the site that's simple and easy to navigate.

Making of the Top 10

 

Worked on the top ten pages. We embedded google maps for the locations of the restaurants so it's easy to find directions to each and every restaurant.

Top Ten Graphics

Worked on some of the graphics for the Top Ten Pages.

Home Page In Progress

We started working on the home page, putting in the images and the text holders for the links. We also set up the server to be able to collaborate and all work on the site at the same time.

Logo & Home GIF

 

I worked on a logo and a slideshow GIF for the the site. We decided on Top 10 Milwaukee Restaurants so the GIF is for all different restaurants in Milwaukee.

Sketches & Nav

The navigation for the site looks a little complex, but it is really very simple. The 10 restaurants below the Top Ten page will be using the same template.

 

The Home page will have a slideshow of the restaurants along with some information about what the site is about.

 

The Top Ten list will have information about each restaurant with "Prev." and "Next" buttons, along with a side bar for easy navigation to specific restaurants.

 

The About Us page will simply be about us.

The last page is the works cited page, and it will have all of our resources that we used to create the site.

The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

Vainglory is a free-to-play MOBA (Mutliplayer Online Battle Arena) for mobile devices. It's set in real-time against other people playing your choice of hero.

The site has a very interesting and appealing layout. Information is easily accessible and the site is easy to navigate. The information is displayed in a way where there is a lot of it, but it is in smaller pieces to not seem overwhelming or overpowering the rest of the site.

The Vainglory site is visually pleasing as well, having beautiful art of the game maps and characters. It is a very innovative design. The site manages to have a wonderful like while still being very informative and navigable.

Pixel Bytes site is very appealing to look at and navigate. The home page shows what their work is and multiple different samples of their creations. Simply hovering over a picture of their work gives a little information on what it was for.

The site makes contacting the owners very simple and there is a nice menu with short and to-the-point links. Any information that you'd be curious about would be easy to find. In general, the site is very well put together.

The Ultranoir site is very interactive, but it's hard to find what the purpose of the site is. Also, the layout is very jumbled.

Hovering over changes the image and you can no longer see what it is. The descriptions are very limited and information seems hard to find.

There is also a large white gap at the top that doesn't really seem to fit with the rest of the site.

Beautiful Type

Beautiful Type is a typographic site with a clean, simple layout and beautiful designs. There's variety between mediums that is appealing.

This site and the artwork listed attracted my interest because of the simple, elegant design and the graphics posted. The site is also very easy to navigate. The layout is something that I might be interested in taking inspiration from on any website work that we may do.
